Privacy, by
design.
Diskario is built to help you understand and maintain your Mac without turning your personal computer into a source of behavioral data.
Local first. Always clear.
Diskario does not use analytics, advertising, telemetry, or user accounts. Your file data stays on your Mac while you scan and review cleanup candidates.
Only when needed
Diskario limits network access to clearly defined purposes:
- Update checks and appcast feeds.
- License activation.
- VirusTotal hash lookups, only when you turn that feature on.
- AI explanations, only when you turn that feature on.
Optional features are disclosed at the moment you use them. Diskario does not upload your files for scanning.
Nothing happens behind your back
The scanner itself is read-only and has no deletion capability. Cleanup actions are isolated in a separate safety layer. Candidates go into a reviewable Discard Pile, and confirmed items move to Trash first.
Security items are quarantined rather than silently deleted, with restore available.
