Audio and transcripts
- Dictation audio stays in memory and is discarded after transcription.
- Audio and video files you choose remain in their original locations. Vozari stores a macOS permission bookmark when continued access is needed; it does not copy the source file into the transcript library.
- Meeting recording is off by default and begins only when you press Start Recording. If enabled, system audio and microphone audio are saved as separate recoverable tracks in the folder you select. Vozari captures no screen frames or window titles.
- Transcripts are stored locally only when you save them to the Vozari library.
- Vozari does not send audio, transcripts, or screen content to Vozari or use them to train models.
Network connections
Speech-model downloads may contact Apple or the model hosts used by FluidAudio and WhisperKit. Model-download requests do not include your audio or transcript. Apple processes Mac App Store purchases through StoreKit. Optional Ollama formatting connects only to software running on your own Mac.
Permissions
Vozari asks for microphone access only when you start dictation or explicitly include the microphone in a meeting recording. It asks for Screen Recording access only when you start a system-audio meeting recording; the capture stream requests audio only. It asks for file or folder access only when you choose a file, watch folder, or meeting destination.
The Mac App Store build copies finished dictation to the clipboard for you to paste. It does not request Accessibility access for system-wide text insertion.
Retention and deletion
You control locally saved transcripts and meeting recordings. Transcripts can be deleted from the Vozari library; meeting audio can be permanently deleted from Meetings after confirmation.
Removing Vozari's macOS app container removes its settings, saved transcripts, bookmarks, downloaded models, and meeting recordings stored in the default app folder. Recordings saved to another folder remain there until you delete them. Vozari does not delete your original imported audio or video files.
